All silver-toned designs are made with hypoallergenic, stainless steel jump rings and either stainless steel or sterling silver clasps. You can check the specs of your specific piece at the time of purchase to discover the base of your clasp, or you can contact me with any questions.

To care for your stainless steel jump rings, you can clean them with mild dish soap and warm water, and store it away from chemicals and other jewelry. Sterling silver clasps can be wiped clean with a polishing rag. If your necklace gets dirty, sweaty, or oily, sterling silver can also be cleaned with warm water and a drop of dish soap.

Finally, we recommend storing all Merperson jewelry in either the cloth pouch it comes in, or hung away from sunlight.

Due to brass's ability to stain the skin, it is only used in pieces like broaches and dangling earrings. To keep it shiny and clean, clean it regularly with a soft cloth and mild cleaner, and store it in a cool, dry place. You can also use a brass polish or other cleaning solution to remove tarnish.
