Handmade in Baltimore, MD by Me (Kir)
Hi! I'm Kir. I began making jewelry at a young age, but have been a chainmailer since around 2020. Over the past five years, I have used chainmail as a way to explore my nonbinary identity, but also connect with other individuals in the fine arts community, BDSM community, and more. As someone who's heavily inspired by kink culture and history, my main goal with my work is to push the boundaries of what can be done with a simple jump ring, and make pieces that connect people to others or allow them to further express themselves.
All of my jewelry is made with function and health in mind. All components that touch skin are made with either hypoallergenic stainless steel and/or sterling silver. Occasionally, I do use brass or copper, but only on things that do not touch skin. These include broaches, the dangling parts of some earrings, and the like. Please note that hypoallergenic materials like stainless steel and sterling silver are expensive and laborious to work with by hand, and this is primarily why my products are priced the way they are.
If there's something specific you wish to explore with your chainmail, leave me a note! I am always happy to to take commissions or make amendments to pieces for you.
